Tuesday 6th: Noyers to Dijon (110km)

What a great nights sleep. I went to bed last night at 11am and here I was waking at 8.30am without a single interupption.

That doesn't happen often enough. I had arranged a 9am breakfast so packed up and went accross to the house for my coffee, bread and jams.

I cycled the 32km to Montbard along beautiful but very quiet roads, barely passing a single car. Montebard is a small rural village whose life line seems to be the its location on the Paris - Dijon TGV line. This rural backwater, 200km south of Paris is only 3hours from the new St.Pancreas Eurostar station in London. The entire cycle today was along small roads and either due to the altitude or local climate it was the coldest day so far.
About 20km before Dijon I reached the village of Pasques where the temperature was only 5C and coupled with the wind made this a naseauting stretch. Things only improved when I aproached Dijon and was cheered by Lake Kir, a sign saying Paris was 350Km away and the late evening sun.
I had a quick look around Dijon before finding a guesthouse. It is a seriously beautiful city with a great buzz and no end of good restaraunts. Once Ryanair starts flying from Dublin, Dijon will make a great weekend destination.

Bless your arse - not to mention your knees and your arms. I don't know how you cycle 100 kms or more every day. The photos look amazing. You have us all very jealous. You better be home for Christmas in our house. We are ordering the turkey tomorrow. Best of luck.

Hey Pete
Well done again, you have outdone yourself, can't believe it is that easy to cycle so much without training, maybe I will try it, but then again, maybe not, sure if Ryan air fly there?
Are you all set for the weekend with Ed & George, be sure to put photos up of that, and good luck with your daily travels - no dogs I hope?
